Rochester Knighthawks News Release

(Rochester, April 13)... For the fifth time this season, Rochester Knighthawks forward Cody Jamieson has been named the National Lacrosse League's Rookie of the Week. Jamieson recorded three goals and four assists in two games last weekend.

The former No. 1 overall pick began the team's two-game weekend with one goal and two assists in a 9-8 loss to the Buffalo Bandits. His goal tied the game at eight and gave Rochester a chance to defeat the first-place team in the East Division.

On Sunday, Jamieson notched two goals and added two assists in a 10-6 win over the Philadelphia Wings at the Wells Fargo Arena. The victory secured third place in the East Division. He scored two straight goals in the second quarter, and assisted on another, in a 5-0 run in the second frame to help the K-Hawks take a 5-1 lead.

"He is playing great team ball and is threat every time he is on the floor," said Head Coach Mike Hasen. "He is doing all the little things well."

Jamieson is currently second in the NLL in points among league rookies. The former Syracuse star has 23 goals and 19 assists. Before Saturday's game, he was named the Knighthawks' Rookie of the Year. He has also been awarded the NLL Rookie of the Week in Weeks 2, 3, 5 and 8.
