
Dawson Recognized as Offensive Player of the Week

Boston, MA (April 13, 2011) Boston Blazers captain Dan Dawson was named the National Lacrosse League (NLL) Offensive Player of the Week today for his stand-out performance against the Philadelphia Wings last Saturday evening. Dawson has been recognized with Player of the Week honors twice this season.
In the squad's 9-7 victory over the Wings last weekend, Dawson led Boston with five goals and two assists. With the win, Dawson helped the Blazers secure their third consecutive playoff appearance since the team's inception. A three-time First Team All-Pro, Dawson currently leads the league in assists (53) and is fourth overall in points (82).
Dawson and the Blazers end their regular season play this Saturday, April 16th at 7:30pm against the Buffalo Bandits at the HSBC Arena. With the fourth seed, the Blazers will face either Buffalo or the Toronto Rock in the first round of the playoffs the weekend of April 30th depending on the outcome their remaining games. If the Bandits win either of its two remaining games or Toronto loses against the Edmonton Rush on Saturday evening, the Blazers will challenge the Bandits once more this season.
