Vegas Knight Hawks News Release
The Vegas Knight Hawks were defeated Friday night by the Arizona Rattlers, 67-20, at The Dollar Loan Center.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
The Rattlers opened the scoring with an early touchdown on their first drive of the game. The Knight Hawks then marched the ball down to the Rattler one yard line but were ultimately stopped just short. Despite the slower start than usual, the Knight Hawks only trailed by seven at the end of the first quarter. The Knight Hawks found the endzone in the second quarter as Jaylon Henderson connected with Frank Brown for their first score of the game. The Rattlers unfortunately rattled back with multiple unanswered scores to give them the lead heading into halftime. Jaylon Henderson found the endzone again in the third quarter, this time on the ground as he ran in for his second rushing touchdown of the season. The offensive and defensive pressure by the Rattlers remained consistent throughout the entire game which ultimately caused the Knight Hawks to suffer their second loss of the young season.
Jaylon Henderson finished the game with four completions for 43 yards and one touchdown in the loss. He threw three interceptions and rushed for 26 yards while adding another touchdown on the ground. Kare Lyles came in to relieve Henderson and finished the game with six completions for 44 yards. He had a touchdown and interception through the air.
Wide receiver Jordan McCray had a strong outing for the Knight Hawks as he finished the game with three receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown. Defensive back Jericho Flowers also displayed his versatility as he finished the game with four total tackles and nearly returned a kickoff for a touchdown at the end of the first half.
Rattlers quarterback Drew Powell completed 15 passes for 175 yards. He finished the game with five passing touchdowns. Running back Shannon Brooks finished the game with two receiving touchdowns and one touchdown on the ground.
