
Knight Hawks Fall Short After 57-56 Loss to Quad City

The Vegas Knight Hawks fell short, 57-56, after Friday night's game against the Quad City Steamwheelers.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
The game got off to a quick start with the Knight Hawks scoring on the first play of the game with Cameron Dukes connecting with KD Cannon. Quad City QB E.J. Hilliard and the Steamwheelers answered right back with their own one-play touchdown, where Hilliard connected with Isaiah Grice for the score. Quad City kept the momentum going with Hilliard running it in twice for the score, but Dukes was able to keep the game close with a touchdown to Jordan McCray and Dez Epps. Quad City was able to strike with a touchdown pass to Keyvan Rudd. With some time left, Dukes sealed the half with a touchdown throw to McCray, putting the team up two scores at halftime. Hilliard continued to do his thing as he ran one in himself for the touchdown to cut the game to a three-point game. Dukes carried his hot hand into the second half with a connection to Cannon. The Steamwheelers came right back down the field as Hilliard connected with Mike Carrigan for the score. The Dukes-to-Cannon connection continued as they scored for a third time. Hilliard tied the game for his fourth rushing touchdown. With time ticking down, Dukes connected with McCray, but Hilliard answered back with a rushing touchdown to secure the win for the Steamwheelers.
Cameron Dukes' hot streak continued tonight. He finished the game on 20-28 for 233 yards and eight passing touchdowns. Jordan McCray put up four touchdowns on eight receptions for 96 yards. Kalen Hicks led the defense with five total tackles, one sack and two tackles for loss.
The Steamwheelers quarterback, E.J. Hilliard, threw 6-13 for 94 yards and three passing touchdowns. He ran the ball 15 times for 150 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Grice Isaiah and Ruud Keyvan finished the game with one reception for a touchdown for a total of 45 yards.

The Vegas Knight Hawks (5-9) will play their final home game of the regular season at The Dollar Loan Center against the Bay Area Panthers on Saturday, July 2 at 4:00 p.m. PT.
