
Kingston Frontenacs Have Signed Prospect Lucas Edmonds

Kingston, ON - The Kingston Frontenacs have signed prospect Lucas Edmonds to a Standard Player Agreement.
Edmonds, a 5'11", 183 lbs. forward from North Bay, ON was selected by the Kingston Frontenacs in the 7th round, 131st overall at the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.
Lucas has been playing professionally in Sweden during the 2020-21 season for Kristianstad IK and Karlskrona HK. In 35 combined games played during the 2020-21 season, he has 4 goals and 5 assists for 9 points.
"We are very excited to add Lucas to our program. He will instantly add skill and experience to our top 6 forward group. His habits, work ethic, and the experience of playing professionally this season in Sweden will be a great resource for our young core of players." said General Manager/Head Coach, Paul McFarland.
The 20-year-old has dual citizenship in Canada and Sweden. In 2016, Lucas moved to Sweden to join Frölunda HC of the U16 Elite League. Last season, in the U20 junior league, Lucas had 22 goals and 51 points while playing for Växjö Lakers HC.
"I am excited to play in the best junior hockey league in the world, for an outstanding organization and coaching staff, alongside many other high caliber players" said Lucas when asked about joining the Frontenacs
The talented winger has 2 years of eligibility remaining to play in Kingston.
