Kingsport Road Warriors News Release
KINGSPORT, TN - During Wednesday's doubleheader, the Kingsport Road Warriors held the Greeneville Flyboys to seven runs across 14 innings.
One day later, the top team in the Appalachian League couldn't be contained anymore.
Greeneville flew past the Road Warriors, 13-3, Thursday evening at Hunter Wright Stadium.
The Flyboys (29-14-1) scored at least one run in seven of the nine innings, including 11 tallies across the first five frames. All nine Greeneville starters reached base in its third straight win.
Tayler Aguilar became the first player in Greeneville Flyboys history to hit for the cycle. Aguilar blasted a two-run homer in the first, tripled in the fourth, doubled in the seventh and singled in the ninth.
Kingsport (1-10) notched 10 hits in the defeat, highlighted by Noah Rosato's first multi-hit performance.
Rosato entered in the fifth at first base and singled in the bottom of the frame. Two innings later, he crushed his first Appalachian League home run. Rosato swung at the first pitch he saw and rocketed a 380-foot missile over the right-field fence.
Relievers Trestyn DuMilieu, Garrett Gleason and Gage Hensley combined to pitch the final six innings, allowing only two earned runs on five hits.
Next, Kingsport hosts the Bristol State Liners for a three-game series, beginning 7 p.m. Friday. The opening contest is Margaritaville Night at Hunter Wright Stadium. Fans will be treated with a beach towel giveaway, a special on cheeseburgers and select beer, a performance by Bary Jolly and a postgame fireworks extravaganza presented by Ingles.
