The Kings won the series opener with Richmond, 2-1, on Friday in front of 4,217 fans at Homer Stryker Field. Ryan Jamison (3-1) allowed just two hits and one run over six innings to earn the win. Jamison struck out six and walked none. Greg Wiltshire struck out four in two innings of relief. Jake Brooks did not allow a base runner in the ninth and earned his fourth save of the season. Fehlandt Lentini was 2-for-3 on the night. Justin McClain drove home the tying run in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly. Jason Startari hit a home run in the fifth inning for the eventual game-winner. The Kings and Roosters meet again on Saturday at Homer Stryker Field at 6:35 p.m.
