2005 Draft Pick played with Sidney Crosby last season

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have agreed to terms on a multi-year entry-level contract with forward Dany Roussin, Kings Senior Vice President/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.

Roussin, 20, was selected by the Kings in the second-round (50th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. This past season, he finished behind linemate and first overall selection Sidney Crosby in goals (54) and points (116) while leading Rimouski Oceanic to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) regular season title. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Quebec City, Quebec, also ranked second in the League with 25 power play goals.

Roussin added another 20 points (11-9=20) and eight penalty minutes in 13 post-season games with Rimouski, which advanced to the 2005 Memorial Cup before losing to the London Knights (Ontario Hockey League) in the championship game. Roussin concluded his junior career by collecting nine points (3-6=9) and four penalty minutes in five Memorial Cup appearances.

The Kings are now scheduled to begin training camp on Tuesday, September 13 (changed from original date of Wednesday, September 14) at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.
