Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the NHL affiliate of the Manchester Monarchs, on Thursday agreed to terms on a one-year entry-level contract with goaltender Adam Hauser. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.

Hauser, 24, played in 43 regular season games this past season for the Monarchs and recorded a 20-15-7 record, a .926 save-percentage and set single season team records with seven shutouts and a 1.94 goals-against-average. In the first 67 seasons of the AHL, only five goalies finished with a goals-against-average under 2.00. This past season, eight AHL netminders, including Hauser, accomplished the feat.

During the post-season with Manchester, he played in four games and had a 2-2 record, two shutouts, a 1.89 goals-against-average and a .913 save-percentage. Hauser began the 2003-04 season by playing in four games with the Reading Royals of the ECHL, where he posted a 3-0-1 record, one shutout, a 1.71 goals-against-average and a .930 save-percentage.

A native of Bovey, Minnesota, the 6-foot-2, 194-pound Hauser was originally selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the third-round (81st overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. A former four-year standout at the University of Minnesota, where at the time of his graduation he held the school records for career wins, saves, shutouts and games played, Hauser was a member of the 2002 NCAA National Champion University of Minnesota Golden Gophers squad.

In addition, Hauser was named to the 2002 NCAA Frozen Four All-Tournament Team, and upon turning pro in 2002, he was named to the 2002-03 ECHL All-Rookie Team while playing for the Jackson Bandits.
