Kings, Huet Agree To An Extension

MANCHESTER, NH – The Los Angeles Kings, the NHL affiliate of the Manchester Monarchs, on Thursday agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension for goaltender and former Monarch Cristobal Huet. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not announced. Huet, 28, appeared in 41 games for the Kings this past season. He went 10-16-10 with a 2.43 goals-against-average and a .907 save-percentage. The 6-foot, 194-pound native of St. Martin D'Heres, France, also posted three shutouts.

Following the conclusion of the Kings season, Huet represented his native France at the 2004 World Hockey Championship in the Czech Republic, where he appeared in four games.

Originally selected by the Kings in the seventh-round (214th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Huet has appeared in 53 career NHL regular season games - all with the Kings - and has a 14-20-11 record, a 2.41 goals-against-average and a .908 save-percentage.

Huet made 30 appearances for the Monarchs during the 2002-03 season, his first in North America. He went 16-8-5 with a 2.34 goals against average and a 922 save-percentage. He also posted one shutout.
