Kalamazoo Kings News Release
The Kalamazoo Kings hosted the Rockford Riverhawks in the first game of their two game series on Tuesday June 10th. The Kings came out with an early lead in the bottom of the third but that lead soon began to slip. The game was all even through five, but the momentum shifted to the Riverhawks who were able to score four unanswered runs until the Kings were able to grab one last run in the ninth. During the ninth inning tempers began to flare as the Kings pitching coach Stephen Byrd was ejected from the game. The Kings starter, David McWatters, fell to 2-1 with his first loss of the season. Riverhawks starter Jason Shelley got the win and improved his record to 2-1. The final score: Rockford - 6 (8-8), Kalamazoo - 3 (5-10).
