Kalamazoo Kings News Release
On June 11th, the Kalamazoo Kings hosted the Rockford Riverhawks in the final game of their two game home stand with the Riverhawks. Mother nature provided a wonderful atmosphere for tonight's game which gave the Kings fans, just over 1800, plenty to cheer about along with the Kings win. Kings starter Jason Biddlestone remained strong through six, but was relieved by Lee Naplin in the seventh who got the win for the Kings. The Kings were down in the fourth but came alive due to a two run homer from Chris Carter to tie the game. The Kings were able to take the lead in the sixth thanks to a solo shot from Steve Hindman. In the seventh, designated hitter Tory Haven hit a long ball to put the Kings in the lead and never looked back from there. The Rockford Riverhawks made one last ditch effort in the ninth but were unsuccessful thanks to Greg Wiltshire who was brought in from the bullpen to get the save, his fourth of the season.
