Kalamazoo, MIâ The Kings touched Otters' starter Grant Williams for three sith inning runs, as the Kalamazoo Kings defeated the Evansville Otters 10-7.
The Kings opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Darren Uranga scored on a groundout. The Otters equaled the game in the top of the third. The Kings seemed to take control in the bottom of the sixth when the got to Williams for three runs.
The Otters would not go away as they scored six runs in the seventh keyed by Brian McKenna's first career homerun and a bases loaded triple off the bat of O. J. Garza. Williams went back out to the mound for the seventh trying for his 10th win of the season. It was not to be, however, as the Kings batted around in the seventh inning off of Williams and reliever Jason Faigin, matching the Evansville's six, taking a 10-7 lead.
The Otters now start a six game homestand against Washington and Richmond. Andre Simpson will start on Tuesday for the Otters. It is Dinner on the Otters Night as Evansville will give away certificates for dinners for two at local restaurants. It is also a Deaconess Hospital Two for Tuesday. Fans may purchase two for one tickets at the Bosse Field ticket window on Tuesday.
