Madison Mallards News Release

Madison, Wis. - The Madison Mallards (1-6, 29-14) fell 14-6 on Tuesday night at Warner Park to the Kenosha Kingfish (6-1, 19-22). The Kingfish cruised to victory with six home runs and led the entire game. Kenosha sealed the win with a seven-run eighth inning that featured four home runs. Madison was able to total ten hits and cut into the Kenosha lead with five runs in the game's final three innings, but were unable to overcome the huge Kenosha seventh inning.

Turning Point

Kenosha was able to jump out to an early lead in the first inning thanks to a leadoff home run by Scott Dubrule and an RBI single by Will Wagner. The Kingfish kept the foot on the pedal in second inning, scoring three to make the score 5-0.

The Mallards never got back into the ballgame and the Kingfish sealed the victory with four home runs in the eighth inning. Kenosha scored seven runs in the frame and pulled out to a 14-2 advantage. The Madison offense responded with two runs in the eighth and two more on a Tyler Plantier (Richmond) home run in the ninth but the deficit was too large and the Mallards fell 14-6.
