Kalamazoo, Mich - The Kenosha Kingfish (16-14) fell to the Kalamazoo Growlers (10-18) 5-0 at Homer Stryker Field on Thursday, August 6th.

Looking to build off of their win from the day before, Kalamazoo got on the board first on a Benjamin Mets (Davenport) walk. They added on one more following a TJ Williams (Notre Dame) RBI groundout and with the addition of a wild pitch took a 3-0 lead.

The game remained hitless for both teams until the fifth when Alex Tappen (Virginia) hit a double. However, he was stranded and the game remained at 3-0.

In the eighth, Cooper Doughman (Chattahoochee Valley Community College) doubled to increase the lead to 5-0. Kenosha failed to get on the board in the ninth.

On the mound, Kingfish starter Ethan Peters (Loras) threw two innings conceding three runs. Reed Smith (Northwestern) came on in relief allowing no runs in three inning pitched. Angelo Cantelo (Lewis University) threw three innings allowing two runs.

Kenosha will take on Kalamazoo tomorrow, Saturday August 7. First pitch is at 5:35 p.m. CDT.
