August 9, 2015 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Kenosha Kingfish News Release

Kenosha, WI - In the midst of a Northwoods League title run, four members of the Kingfish organization earned league wide honors.

Kingfish Manager Duffy Dyer took home "Manager of the Year" honors. In just his second year, Duffy Dyer has led the Kingfish to two half-season championships and the number one overall seed from the South Division heading into the playoffs. His efforts have led to improvements in almost every statistical category from this season to last including, but not limited to, overall seasonal record and overall offensive production. Dyer also had the opportunity to manage the South Division in the 2015 Northwoods League All-Star Game and lead the team to a 3-1 victory over the North Division All-Stars.

Stephen Huff, the first year Pitching Coach for the Kingfish, earned himself "Coach of the Year" honors. Huff, who currently works in the same capacity at the University of Western Georgia, joined the staff this season and has made an immediate and significant impact. The pitching staff has had drops in every major category, most notably ERA and BAA. He helped coach three pitchers - Ryan Orr, Josh Serio, and P.J. Schuster - to the 2015 Northwoods League All-Star game, and established the Kingfish pitching staff as a unit worthy of respect.

Two position players - Eric Filia and Alex Borglin - were recognized as "Postseason All-Stars" by the league as well. Both players were named league All Stars earlier in the season, and have continued their successes on the field. Borglin has seen batting average hover around .280 while his walk total and collective runs scored numbers are atop the league leaderboard. Eric Filia, who just recenetly set the Kingfish franchise record for hits in a single season, owns the fifth best batting average (.342) and second most RBI (53) of any hitter in the Northwoods League.

The club in general has had an extremely successful season, and the Kingfish are happy to recognize the outstanding efforts of the four players and coaches aforementioned. The regular season finale will take place tonight in St. Cloud at 7:05 CT before returning home for a single-elimination playoff game.
