Albany, N.Y., May 25, 2004 – The Albany Conquest arenafootball2 team, which has won three straight games, have teamed up with Price Chopper to help Capital Region kids “Swing into Summer” at the team’s next home game on June 6 against the Cape Fear Wildcats at Noon at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y. The game will feature appearances by WWE wrestlers and The ZOOperstars, hilarious inflatable animalistic performers. In addition, someone will win a free Playstation 2 Console.

There will be a pre-game block party on Pearl Street that begins at 10 a.m. featuring a concert by Realation, a skate boarding demo, and Mike and Ike will sample candy with KISS FM 102.3.

The “Swing into Summer” program rewards children for their hard work during the school year by providing them with a free ticket to the Conquest’s home game on June 6 at Pepsi Arena. Thousands of school children ages 14 and under from 36 school districts and private schools will be receiving tickets to the game. Students will redeem their free ticket at the Pepsi Arena Box Office for their day-of-game ticket and seat assignment. Students with free “Swing into Summer” tickets, must be accompanied by an adult purchasing one or more tickets to the June 6 game. Up to three students may enter the game at no cost per one paid adult. For students that are not in a school district that has signed up to be part of the program, a printable version of the ticket can be found at www.albanyconquest.com.

“Price Chopper and the Conquest have developed this program to reward kids for their accomplishments,” said Albany Conquest General Manager Robert Zeig. “What better way than to enjoy an Albany Conquest game at the Pepsi Arena that will feature appearances by the ZOOperstars and WWE wrestlers,” added Zeig.

"Swing into Summer is a great program,” said Pam Cerrone, manager of creative marketing services for Price Chopper Supermarkets. “Albany Conquest arena football is a fun family outing, and Price Chopper is pleased to be part of a program that provides so many kids the opportunity to enjoy the excitement!"

As part of “Swing into Summer,” the Conquest will be distributing tickets all this week, including at Mont Pleasant Middle School in Schenectady, N.Y on Wednesday at 2 p.m., where school children will receive a ticket that will be presented to them by four Conquest players, defensive specialist Rob Green, offensive specialist Tony Locke, lineman Mike Laroche, and quarterback Ralph Barone, who is from Schenectady and attended Mohonasen High School. The children at Mont Pleasant Middle School earned these tickets as part of the school’s “Caught in the Act” program, which rewards kids for positive behavior.

Fans interested in buying tickets can do so at the Pepsi Arena Box Office or by calling TicketMaster at (518) 476-1000. More information is available by visiting www.albanyconquest.com.
