Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY-The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz are sponsoring and participating in the 3rd Annual Summer Sunset Series on June 1st at Lake Overholser.
Summer Sunset is a race series that includes a 1 mile fun run, kiddie dashes, and a 5K run. According to www.summersunsetrun.com, this unique event was developed to provide an alternative to early morning races so families can participate together. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony following the 5K run and a prize drawing. Food and drink will be provided by OK Runner for all participants. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and enjoy the Oklahoma sunset following the activities.
Summer Sunset encourages participants to pick up their pre-race packet and registration form at the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz office on Thursday, May 31, from 5-7 p.m. Each participant will receive a complimentary ticket to the Yard Dawgz game on June 2nd when the Dawgz host the Laredo Lobos. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Ford Center.
Yard Dawgz players, coaches, dance team, and mascots will be at the race to cheer on the runners and to sign autographs. Members of the front office staff will participate in the run, as well as several members of the Yard Dawgz Dance Team.
Yard Dawgz Assistant General Manager, Ryan Haigh, is looking forward to the event. "We are excited to team up with the Summer Sunset Series to kickoff this summer's full slate of events," commented Haigh.
