Kickers Present First-Ever Youth Fantasy Camp

RICHMOND, VA - (Wednesday, July 27, 2005) - The Richmond Kickers are pleased to host the first-ever Youth Fantasy Camp prior to the Kickers match versus the Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday, August 7th. The camp will take place at the University of Richmond Stadium, 12-5p.m.

Kickoff for the Kickers/Whitecaps game is set for 6:00 p.m. Limited to 50 registrations, the Youth Fantasy camp is designed to offer serious youth players the opportunity to train like a professional and will be conducted by Kickers players and nationally licensed coaches. Players ages 8-16 will sign an official Kickers contract and will receive a personal locker for the day in the Kickers locker room. In addition, the club will provide snacks and drinks during the camp as well as an adidas t-shirt autographed by the pro team, a Kickers team poster and a mini soccer ball. The camp will conclude with a game-day experience for the campers who will greet the pro players as they arrive to the stadium and will be introduced to the fans at halftime. Each child will receive a dinner voucher and a family four-pack of tickets to the match as well as a guided tour of the stadium, press box and VIP area and Kickers sleeper coach.

"We are enthusiastic about the opportunity to offer a professional Fantasy camp to young soccer players in the Richmond area," comments Martin Dell, Director of Youth Development. "Each camper will have the chance to live the life of a professional soccer player for a day, emulating their local soccer heroes. In addition to improving their soccer skills, they will be able to participate in this unique experience."
