"My wife Lisa and I are extremely excited to be able to launch Connor's Heroes Foundation with the support of the Richmond Kickers," comments Connor's Heroes Foundation co-founder Steve Goodwin. "The Kickers have long been committed to community involvement and children's issues in particular, so it makes perfect sense for them to join us in our efforts to provide emotional and financial support to children with cancer and their families. The World Cup Challenge promises to be a great event, and with the help of the Kickers, we will raise public awareness that the conquering of childhood cancer needs to be a priority. Cancer treatment is difficult for the entire family, and one of the goals of Connor's Heroes is to bring some joy and fun into their lives. The Richmond Kickers do this for families each time they take the field. They are heroes to thousands of kids in Richmond, and by joining us at this event, they are truly Connor's Heroes as well."
