FREDERICK, MD "" Nolan Reimold hit a two-run homerun in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Frederick Keys beat the Potomac Nationals 3-1 Saturday night at Harry Grove Stadium.

The Nationals (2-3, 35-40) started the scoring by plating a run in the first inning. Roger Bernadina worked a walk to lead off the game. He stole second, went to third on a groundout by Ian Desmond and then scored on a Cristian Guerrero groundout to second base.

The Keys (2-3, 28-46) tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning. Morgan Clendenin was walked and scored on a sacrifice fly to center field by Jake Duncan.

Nationals' reliever Tom Wilson struck out Travis Brown to open up the bottom of the eighth frame. Then, he walked Jonathan Tucker. Duncan, who was the next batter, grounded into a fielder's choice. Alex Morales then came in to face Reimold and served up the homerun. The long ball was Reimold's tenth of the season.

Clint Everts started for the Nats and lasted four innings, allowing one run on three hits. The righty walked five and struck out three. Then, Anthony Pearson pitched two scoreless innings. Wilson (3-1), who took the loss, allowed one run in 1.2 innings of work.

Dave Haehnel started for the Keys and surrendered one run in five innings. The lefty scattered two hits and struck out six. Rommie Lewis (2-0) earned the win after tossing three scoreless frames. Both of Lewis' wins have come against the Nationals. Jim Hoey notched his first save since getting the promotion from Class A Delmarva (SAL).

There were two ejections in the game and both were by home plate umpire Mark Buchanan. Trey Webb became the first Potomac player or staff member to be ejected from a game this season. He was after arguing a called strike three in the fourth inning. In the seventh, the Keys' Tripper Johnson was thrown out of the game after arguing a called strike three.

The Nationals are now 11-4 against the Keys this season. Potomac is 2-3 on this road trip with one game to play.

The rubber game of this three-game series will be on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. RHP Collin Balester will start for the Nationals while RHP Luis Ramirez will counter for the Keys.
