FREDERICK, MD - The Frederick Keys (33-34) defeated the Down East Wood Ducks (35-33) in game one of a doubleheader 7-5 before falling in game two 5-3. The loss in game two snapped a season-high eight game winning streak for the Keys.

Continuing his Major League rehab assignment with the Keys, Colby Rasmus hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first in game one. Adding an RBI double later in the game, Rasmus finished 2-for-4 with a home run, double and three RBIs.

The Keys would add two more in each of the third and fourth innings. Jomar Reyes was hit by a pitch in the third, and Collin Woody singled. T.J. Nichting then reached on an error, and Cole Billingsley brought in Reyes and Woody with a single.

In the fourth, Rasmus drove in Fajardo with his double, and moved to third on a Preston Palmeiro single. Rasmus then scored on a Reyes single to make it 6-0 Keys.

The Wood Ducks scored four runs in the sixth. Franklin Rollin and Leody Taveras each singled, and Rollin scored on an Anderson Tejeda single. Alex Kowalczyk followed with a three-run home run to bring the Wood Ducks to within two.

Frederick responded with a run in the bottom of the frame on a fielder's choice that made it 7-4, but Down East threated in the seventh. Rollin lead off with a double, and scored on a two-out single from Kowalczyk. Chuck LeBlanc then reached on an error, and Brendon Davis walked to load the bases. Tyler Erwin got out of the jam by getting Andretty Cordero to ground out to short and preserve the 7-5 win.

Ofelky Peralta (3-6) earned his second straight victory. The right-hander pitched five innings, and faced five batters in the sixth, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out four. In game two, the Wood Ducks jumped out to an early 5-0 lead. Rollin singled before Francisco Jimenez got the next two outs. Jimenez then hit Kowalczyk with a pitch before allowing four straight hits. LeBlanc doubled in Rollin, and Davis drove in two with a single. Josh Altmann followed with an RBI double and the scoring was capped by a Matt Whatley triple.

Ryan McKenna led off the bottom of the first with his eighth home run of the year, and the score remained 5-1 until the sixth. After Nichting singled, Wilson Garcia launched a two-run home run to right field.

The Keys threatened in the seventh, putting the tying run at first, but Jairo Beras got Nichting to pop out to third and end the game.

In his Carolina League debut, Werner Leal (1-0) earned the victory. The right-hander allowed one run on three hits over five innings while walking one and striking out four. Jimenez (0-2) took the loss. He allowed the five first run innings, and surrendered eight hits over four innings.
