Key Bank Reading Stampede to visit Birch Elementary School

Boise, Idaho (December 13, 2004) --- The Key Bank Reading Stampede, an educational outreach program originated by the Idaho Stampede Community Foundation, enters its third year with a visit to Birch Elementary School on Tuesday, December 14, 2004. Three Stampede players, Scott Burrell, Taliek Brown, and Britton Johnsen, will read with students from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the school, which is located at 6900 Birch Lane in Nampa.

The program includes classroom visits by players, coaches and front office personnel of the Idaho Stampede and is conducted year-round under the direction of the Idaho Stampede Community Foundation. Key Bank has partnered with the Stampede for the past two seasons to implement the program in schools throughout the Treasure Valley. Len Dorscher, an instructor at Birch Elementary, and Stampede employee Trey Langford are coordinating the Tuesday event. The school will receive a donation of books as part of the visit.

The Stampede (5-5) play at Yakima Thursday and then begin a three-game homestand this Friday and Saturday, December 17 and 18, at the Idaho Center in Nampa.
