Jones and Hadley earn player of the week honors

Boise, ID (December 13, 2004) — The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Great Lakes Storm guard Mark Jones was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week, while Sioux Falls Skyforce guard DeSean Hadley was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for the week of December 5 – 11.

Jones averaged 25.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game during the week as the Storm won two of three games to remain in first place in the Eastern Conference with a 3.8 quarter-point average. He also added 2.7 assists and 2.3 steals per contest, while shooting 50 percent (31 of 62) from both the floor and from behind the three-point line (2 of 4).

In a 112-106 (4-3) overtime victory over the Rockford Lightning on Saturday, December 11, Jones hit the game-tying three-pointer with three seconds left in regulation to send the game into the extra period. He finished the night with 20 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. On the season, Jones is averaging 20.9 points per game, ranking him third in the league in scoring.

Sioux Falls guard DeSean Hadley led the Skyforce to a 3-1 record during the week as he posted 25.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. He also added 2.75 assists and 2.7 steals per contest, while shooting 56.4 percent (35 of 62) from the floor, 96.0 percent (24 of 25) from the free-throw line, and 80.0 percent (8 of 10) from behind the three-point line.

In a 94-82 (6.5-0.5) victory over the Idaho Stampede on December 5, Hadley scored 22 points and added 11 rebounds for a double-double. Three nights later he scored 32 points, grabbed six rebounds and had four steals in a 125-105 (6-1) victory over the Great Lakes Storm. He finished the week on December 11, with 30 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 100-87 (5.5-1.5) victory over the Michigan Mayhem.

On the season, Hadley is 10th in the league with 18.3 points per game, while also leading the league in three-point field goal percentage at 54.5 percent (12 of 22), and is fourth in free-throw percentage at 95.5 percent (63 of 66). Hadley, last season's Defensive Player of the Year, also ranks 5th in the league in steals with 2.4 per contest.

Other players receiving consideration were Gary's Jemeil Rich (21.5 ppg, 11.0 apg), Dakota's Billy Thomas (20.6 ppg, 4.7 rpg), and Idaho's Sam Clancy (12.3 ppg, 9.7 rpg).
