Indiana Fever News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever has waived rookies Ashley Key and Erin Lawless, the team has announced. Key was the club's third-round draft pick out of NC State. Lawless, a forward from nearby Purdue University, was signed as a free agent prior to training camp.
Key played 13 minutes in the Fever's preseason win over Seattle, scoring nine points with an assist and a steal. Lawless missed the game due to a concussion suffered in practice.
The Fever training camp roster consists of 11 active players, with Anna DeForge and Tan White returning to Indianapolis and practicing for the first time on Wednesday.
Veterans Sheri Sam, Tammy Sutton-Brown and Tamika Whitmore are expected to report to camp this weekend, following overseas playoff series in Turkey and Russia.
The Fever will participate in two more preseason games - May 10 vs. Los Angeles (7:00 p.m.) and May 15 at Chicago (8:00 p.m.) - before opening the regular season against the Minnesota Lynx, May 19 (7:00 p.m.) at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Single-game tickets for all Fever home games may be purchased at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations or FeverBasketball.com. For season ticket information, call (317) 917-2500.
