
Kernels Meet the Players Night April 6th

The Cedar Rapids Kernels will hold their annual âMeet the Kernels' night on Wednesday, April 6, at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The following afternoon the team begins the 2005 season by hosting Kane County at noon.
In an effort to offer fans even more during the event, this year the Kernels will hold a brief scrimmage against Mt. Mercy College as part of the night's festivities. The Kernels will provide pitching for both teams and the length of the exhibition contest will depend on the availability of the team's pitchers. The scrimmage will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Following the scrimmage members of the Kernels will be available for autographs.
Fans wishing to purchase tickets to the event in advance can do so by calling the Kernels' ticket office at 896-7560 or by visiting the Bimm Ridder Diamond Shop at the stadium. The Bimm Ridder Diamond Shop is open from Monday-Friday from 10-5 and on Saturday from 10-2.
