
Kernels given green light from city

Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
The Cedar Rapids Kernels have received the green light from the City of Cedar Rapids to proceed with their upcoming eight game home stand and youth baseball camp, both beginning on Thursday, June 19.
The Kernels Youth Baseball Camp is geared to boys and girls, ages 7-12, and runs from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There is still time to register for the camp - registration may be completed on-line at www.kernels.com The Kernels begin an eight game home stand starting Thursday with game against the Quad Cities River Bandits and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. The series features fireworks on Saturday night and a noon game on Tuesday, June 24. The Kernels have also teamed up with the Freedom From Hunger Food Drive and will be collecting non-perishable food items at all eight games that will be distributed through local food pantries to aid in flood relief efforts.
