Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
May 21, 2005 - The Los Angeles Angels have activated Kernel first baseman Clifton Remole and reassigned him to extended spring training in Mesa, AZ. The move was announced May 20th by Los Angeles Director of Player Development Tony Reagins.
Remole, an 11th round draft pick in the 2004 draft out of Georgia Tech University, had been on the disabled list since April 23 after injuring his abdomen while swinging at a pitch in the first game of a doubleheader at Burlington on April 14th.
Before being placed on the disabled list Remole had been hitting .308 in five games as a member of the Kernels. He was the team's starting first baseman before going on the disabled list.
With the roster move, the Kernels current roster stands at 25 active players. There are three others currently on the disabled list: RHP Frederic DeLoizaga-Carney, RHP Mitch Arnold, and 2B Josh LeBlanc.
The Kernels play West Michigan Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
