Odessa Jackalopes News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS - The Odessa Jackalopes, members of the North American Hockey League, are proud to announce that Kenny Hausinger has been named the Easton Hockey Forward of the Month by the North American Hockey League.
The Anchorage, AK native currently leads the league in scoring with seven goals and six assists in seven games. Hausinger had a huge coming-out party in his debut with the Jackalopes. Hausinger's three-point night on opening night against the Wichita Falls Wildcats, included the game-winning goal with less than three minutes remaining in the game. Since then, Hausinger has scored at least one point in all six games, with three of those games being multi-point efforts.
"I think it was important for us to get off to a decent start and we have done that. We came into camp early to prepare for this season and everyone has bought in to Coach Gatto's philosophy," Hausinger told the NAHL's Director of Communications Alex Kyrias in a recent interview.
"Coming off a major injury, I kept the expectations low to start the season, but I was definitely pleased with how the month went."
Head Coach Greg Gatto was quick to applaud the efforts of Hausinger as well.
"Kenny is an old-time hockey guy. He is first to the puck, he competes real hard, he isn't flashy, but he just finds a way to get the job done. He is a great passer and sees the ice very well. He makes everyone around him better,"
Kenny Hausinger and the Jacks will look to build on their early season success this Thursday and Friday night in Rio Grande Valley against the Killer Bees. The voice of the Jacks, Joey Battaino has the call on both nights at 7:15 PM CT on the flagship station for Jacks Hockey, Classic Rock 102.1 FM KFZX and FASTHockey.com
In 2014-15, the Odessa Jackalopes will embark upon their fourth season in the North American Hockey League and 18th in the Permian Basin. Season tickets are on sale now!
