Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - The Corpus Christi IceRays are proud to announce their partnership for the 2014-15 season with Flint Hills Resources and United Services Organizations South Texas. Throughout the 2014-15 IceRays hockey season, the Corpus Christi IceRays will be dedicating a section of the lower bowl for all home games at the American Bank Center to members of the United States Military. During every game, members of the military will be recognized by the IceRays.
"The IceRays have always been great about partnering with us," said Nancy Allen, President and CEO of USO South Texas. "Our military just loves coming to all of the events, and they love the family aspect of it and being together for a fun time. Being a partner with our local sporting events is very important to our military. We are so happy to be partnered with the IceRays. Flint Hills is a fabulous partner to have, and we appreciate their dedication to our military."
"Our local service men and women work tirelessly to protect our country and our freedoms," said Darcy Schroeder, Flint Hills Resources spokesperson. "Flint Hills Resources is proud to partner with the Corpus Christi IceRays this year. It's one way we hope to show our appreciation for our local troops."
In addition, the IceRays will be hosting their annual Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, February 7, 2015 when they host the Lone Star Brahmas. IceRays players will wear special uniforms to honor the military, and the organization will have a variety of entertainment for both fans and military members.
"What a great gesture from our friends at Flint Hills," said IceRays General Manager Pat Dunn. "This is wonderful news for all Military personnel, friends and families. We look forward to providing some quality entertainment. Thank you Flint Hills for your generosity and your involvement in the community. We are looking forward to the new season."
