Adirondack Thunder News Release
Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New Jersey Devils, announced today that New Jersey has reassigned goaltender Ken Appleby to the Thunder from the AHL's Binghamton Devils.
Appleby, 22, heads to Adirondack with a 9-12-1 record with Binghamton this season, in addition to a 2.78 goals against average and a .898 save percentage, leading the Devils in save percentage amongst goaltenders with multiple games played. Appleby made his NHL debut earlier this season as he amassed a 1.45 goals against average and a .945 save percentage over three appearances with New Jersey. When he made his NHL debut on January 20, Appleby became the first player with multiple games played in Adirondack to go on to appear in an NHL game.
The 6-4 netminder led the Thunder with a 17-9-2 record during the 2015-16 season, in addition to a 7-5 record in post-season play as the Thunder advanced to Round 2 of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. In his career with Adirondack, Appleby has posted a 2.08 goals against average, to go along with a .926 save percentage. The North Bay, ONT native has spent the majority of the past two seasons in the AHL with Albany and Binghamton.
Adirondack is back in action this week with three games, beginning tomorrow evening in Worcester, where a point for the Thunder would clinch a Kelly Cup Playoff berth. Visit ECHLThunder.com or call 518-480-3355 x1 to get tickets for all upcoming Thunder home games.
