The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 7-4 on Friday night at Prospera Place to close out their four game home-stand.

Liam Kindree got things started 40 seconds in to the opening frame as he tipped home a point shot for his third goal of the season to give Kelowna an early 1-0 lead. Leif Mattson(7) extended Kelowna's lead 1:28 later on the power play after stripping a Hurricanes defenceman in front of the Lethbridge net and beating goaltender Stuart Skinner. Jake Elmer(3) got Lethbridge on the board with 55 seconds remaining in the period and Kelowna took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

Giorgio Estephan(8) took advantage of a Hurricanes power play at the 5:48 mark of the middle period to even things at 2-2. Estephan(9) scored another for Lethbridge to give them a one goal advantage, but Dillon Dube(11) made sure the celebration was short lived, responding for Kelowna 44 seconds later after dancing around two Hurricanes defencemen before slipping it past Skinner. At 14:45 Kyle Topping(9) finished a beautiful feed from line-mate Leif Mattson to restore a Kelowna lead and the Rockets led 4-3 heading into the final stanza.

The Hurricanes continued to push back as Jordy Bellerive(9) tied the game 4-4 at 3:58 of the third period. At 8:52 Dillon Dube(12) put the Rockets back on top with his second of the night. James Hilsendager(3) gave the Rockets a two goal cushion on a hard slap shot from the point at 12:28 before Conner Bruggen-Cate(3) put one in the empty net to solidify the Rockets win. 7-4 Kelowna final.

Kelowna enjoyed multi-point nights from Cal Foote(4A), Kyle Topping(1G, 2A), Dillon Dube(2G), Leif Mattson(1G,1A), and Gordie Ballhorn(2A).

James Porter made 30 saves on 34 shots. Shots finished tied 34-34.

Kelowna's record improves to 12-6-2-1.

The Rockets now hit the road for a three game road trip starting tomorrow night in Langley with a meeting with the Vancouver Giants. Puck drop is 7:00pm.

Kelowna then heads to Spokane on November 22nd for a Wednesday night meeting with the Chiefs with puck drop going at 7:05pm. The Rockets then close out their three game road trip with a stop back in Langley for a rematch with the Giants on Friday, November 24th. Puck drop for the rematch is at 7:30pm.

The club returns home on Saturday, November 25th for the first meeting with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the 2017-18 regular season. Puck drop is 7:05pm.
