New Orleans VooDoo News Release

The Arena Football Writer's Association yesterday announced that New Orleans VooDoo QB Andy Kelly has been named Offensive Player of the Mid-Year and OL/DL B.J. Cohen was named Lineman of the Mid-Year.

Through the first eight games of the season in leading the VooDoo to a 6-2 record, Kelly completed 243-of-360 passes for 2417 yards with 49 touchdown passes and six interceptions. Kelly currently leads the Arena Football League in attempts, completions, yardage and touchdown passes. He is currently on a pace to set career highs in all of these categories and also has a career-high 67.5% completion percentage.

Cohen leads the VooDoo with five sacks for -25 yards, tying him for second in the league in that statistic. He also leads all New Orleans linemen with 12.5 tackles, one interception return for nine yards and five passes defensed. Cohen is well on his way to breaking his career-high in sacks of seven, which he set as a member of the Tampa Bay Storm in 2003.
