Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
Medicine Hat, AB - Medicine Hat Tigers announced this morning the return of 20-year-old goaltender Matt Keetley to the Tigers from the AHL Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights.
To make room for Keetley on the roster, the Tigers moved 19-year-old goaltender Blaine Neufeld to the Saskatoon Blades for future considerations.
Keetley is coming off a 3-0 shutout over the Iowa Stars where he made 23 saves and pick up an assist on September 30th.
"We are loosing a real good person and player in Blaine Neufeld," stated Tigers' general manager/head coach Willie Desjardins. "We thought Blaine would be our starter this year with Matt being gone. These situations are hard on everyone and we wish Blaine all the best in Saskatoon."
Keetley is expected in the Tigers line-up tonight as they continue their 6-game road swing into the Eastern Division by taking on the Saskatoon Blades. So far on the trip, the Tigers are 2-0 with wins coming in Swift Current (2-1) last Friday and Prince Albert (3-2 OT) on Sunday afternoon.
