Keene Swamp Bats News Release

KEENE, NH - Colton Parrish's (TCU) three-run shot in the top of the fourth proved to be the difference in the game as the Plymouth Pilgrims (10-6) topped the Keene SwampBats (8-10) by a score of 10-2 in a rain-shortened contest on Wednesday night at Alumni Field in Keene.

The game was called prior to the bottom of the sixth inning due to heavy rain.

In Plymouth's half of the fourth, a hit by pitch and a walk started the frame before consecutive flyouts recorded the first two outs for SwampBats starter Tyler Drabick, but Parrish barely cleared the fence with the decisive three-run homer to make it a 5-2 game.

Drabick (Kent State) gave up the five runs on four hits to go along with two walks and five strikeouts in 3.2 IP. The right-hander was dealt the loss and falls to 0-2 on the year.

Plymouth's Cam Walsh (Northeastern) gave the visitors an early 2-0 lead with a two-run shot off of Drabick in the top of the first.

The SwampBats tied the game at two apiece with a pair of runs in the home half of the second as a single and a hit by pitch put two men on before Alex Griffith (Francis Marion) knocked in a run with an RBI groundout and a balk charged to Plymouth starter A.J. Kullman (Cincinnati) allowed a second run to score.

Kullman (3-0) allowed the two runs on five hits while walking one and fanning four in 5.0 IP.

A three-run shot from Hernen Sardinas (Maine) came as part of a five-run fifth and extended the Pilgrims' lead to 10-2.

LHP Ian Exposito (St. Thomas) allowed one hit over a scoreless inning in relief for the SwampBats.

The SwampBats host the Winnipesaukee Muskrats on Thursday night at Alumni Field in Keene. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. as RHP Kyle Whitten (0-0, 7.11) from the University of Virginia gets the start for Keene.
