Kauleinamoku Captures Two Weekly Awards

SALT LAKE CITY - Utah Blaze WR Shaun Kauleinamoku has earned two weekly honors for his record-setting performance against the San Antonio Talons in Week 12. In addition to being named the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week, Kauleinamoku also received the AFL Playmaker of the Week Award.

Against the Talons, Kauleinamoku (5-10, 185, Western Oregon) set a Utah Blaze franchise record by racking up 363 all-purpose yards. The fleet-footed wideout totaled nine receptions for 159 yards and two touchdowns, as he hauled in two passes of over 30 yards while producing seven first downs.

Kauleinmoku also provided a valuable spark on special teams by consistently putting the offense in great position as a returner. He gained 207 yards on seven kickoff returns on the night, averaging over 29 yards per attempt. That effort included three returns of over 40 yards, two of which were converted in touchdowns for the Blaze.

In just four games this season, Kauleinamoku has registered 31 receptions for 454 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was previously named the Russell Althletic Offensive Player of Week 10 after catching 13 balls for 211 yards and five touchdowns against the San Jose SaberCats.
