Kansas City Wizards To Host Steel Signing Event Saturday

The Kansas City Wizards will integrate fans in a landmark event before Saturday's home game against the Colorado Rapids. The team has invited all Wizards season ticket holders to a signing ceremony for the first piece of steel to be erected at the site of the new Wizards stadium.
The event will take place on Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at the stadium plaza site, located at 1600 Village West Parkway in Kansas City, KS.
As part of the ceremony, season ticket holders will be invited to autograph the steel beam, along with local dignitaries and OnGoal principals Neal Patterson, Cliff Illig, Pat Curran, Greg Maday and Robb Heineman. All attendees can then watch the beam being put into place at the stadium construction site.
"Construction on the stadium is moving at a rapid pace, and we're pleased to be this far along this early in the process," Wizards President and OnGoal CEO Robb Heineman said. "Inviting season ticket holders to this event is a great way to get fans connected to our club, our stadium and our vision for soccer in Kansas City."

The Wizards continue the 2010 MLS Season on Saturday, April 10th when they take on the Colorado Rapids at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The Wizards are currently taking orders for new season tickets. Season tickets are discounted up to 33% off the face value price and start at only $170 for 17 games. Fans purchasing new season-ticket packages will retain an early priority number that will determine seat locations in Kansas City's new stadium, which is scheduled to open in the summer of 2011. Season ticket holders also get preferred parking at all Wizards home games, access to Wizards VIP events, merchandise discounts and much more.
