Kansas City Current News Release
KANSAS CITY - The National Women's Soccer League today announced the roster for the September/October Best XI, presented by Mastercard. Highlighting the list is Kansas City Current midfielder Debinha. This is the fourth monthly award for the Brazilian midfielder and the seventh award for a Current player this season.
Debinha was one of the most coveted players in the 2022 Free Agent class and her performance in 2023 did not disappoint. She played all but ten minutes in the six games from September through October, including the UKG NWSL Challenge Cup semifinal. She scored three regular season goals to get within just two scores of the 2023 NWSL Golden Boot. She also recorded the assist on Izzy Rodriguez's 14th minute score against Chicago on October 7 that sparked the team to a club-record 6-3 win.
Mastercard and the NWSL launched the Best XI of the Month awards platform with the First Team and Second Team honors for the 22 top players of the league after the 2021 season. Mastercard believes that our world is full of brilliant possibilities and unlocking the potential in every person across all parts of their life is what Priceless is all about. The development of the Best XI is a further commitment from the company to connect NWSL fans to the league and the athletes they love.
The NWSL Best XI of the Month is selected each month of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis, and the NWSL's on-air broadcast talent. The full Best XI for September/October is below:
