Goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan Named to Canadian National Team Roster

San Diego Wave FC announced today that goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan has been called up to the Canadian Women's National Team ahead of two friendly matches against Brazil. The two matches will mark Canada's first steps after securing their spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in last's month's home-and-away Concacaf W Olympic Play-In qualification series.

The opening match of the series will kick off on Oct. 28 at 11:30 a.m. PT in Montréal at Stade Saputo, before heading to Halifax at Wanderers Ground on Oct. 31 at 12:30 p.m. PT.

Sheridan, 28, has played in 19 matches (19 starts) for the Wave this season and finished the regular-season with a career-high and league-leading nine clean sheets. Sheridan joined the San Diego Wave ahead of the club's inaugural season in 2022, where she earned 2022 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year.

The Wave claimed the NWSL Shield with a win over Racing Louisville FC on Sunday at Snapdragon Stadium. With the win, San Diego earned a first-round bye and home field advantage for the semifinals and will host either OL Reign or Angel City on Sunday, Nov. 5. Tickets for the match are currently on-sale.
