LAKEWOOD, N.J. - After a successful road trip, the BlueClaws return to FirstEnergy Park starting Friday for eight games against the Kannapolis Intimidators and the first-place West Virginia Power.
Lakewood, who took six games on their eight-game swing through the South coming into the weekend, sit just three games out of first place behind the Power.
The homestand starts on Friday night at 7:05 at FirstEnergy Park, when the BlueClaws welcome Kannapolis (Chicago White Sox) for the first-ever Bruce Springsteen Night. For one night only the BlueClaws will become the BruceClaws, as Lakewood celebrates one of New Jersey's finest. The evening will feature a ticket giveaway to one of the upcoming Giants Stadium shows, a chance to win a Bruce autographed baseball, music from the Boss all night long, and a jersey auction. Fans will have a chance to bid on the one-of-a-kind BruceClaw jerseys.
Fans can also stick around after the game for post- game fireworks, presented by Toyota and Scion World of Lakewood.
Saturday's 7:05 p.m. game will feature a BlueClaws team poster giveaway to the first 2,000 fans, thanks to the U.S. Postal Service.
On Sunday, the BlueClaws are pleased to welcome former Phillies pitcher Mitch Williams to FirstEnergy Park. Wild Thing will be on hand for the 5:05 p.m. game to sign autographs, meet fans and promote his line of Wild Thing Salsas. It will also be Kortney Rose Foundation Night, presented by World Subaru.
The BlueClaws wrap up their series with Kannapolis on Monday at 7:05 p.m. with another great giveaway. The first 2,000 fans 18 and older will all get Ryan Howard XL T-Shirts, courtesy of InVision Eyecare. It is also a Kids Eat Free Monday, thanks to ShopRite. Every child in attendance will get a voucher for a free hot dog, chips and a soda.
Lakewood opens their four-game set with the West Virginia Power (Milwaukee Brewers) at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday featuring a visit from a BlueClaws fan favorite, Mike Zagurski. The first 2,000 fans will each get a Mike Zagurski bobblehead, thanks to RE/MAX of New Jersey and Zagurski himself will be at FirstEnergy Park to celebrate with the fans. As with each Tuesday, it will also be Senior Day, courtesy of Commerce Bank as every senior will receive a free hot dog, chips and a soda.
Wednesday's 11:05 a.m. contest will be the BlueClaws final Camp Day of the season, as the first 2,000 fans 17 and younger will get oversized baseball cards, thanks to the Asbury Park Press.
The BlueClaws continue their series with the Power on Thursday at 7:05 p.m with a visit from the Phillie Phanatic. The Phillies loveable mascot will be on hand to entertain the fans, courtesy of OceanFirst Bank. It will also be Thirsty Thursday with dollar beers all night in the Coors Light WRAT Trap.
Lakewood will conclude the homestand with a 7:05 p.m. game with West Virginia on Friday, August 1. Fans are invited to hang around after the final out for post-game fireworks, presented by Toyota and Scion World of Lakewood.
