(Augusta, GA) - Adam White hit his fourth home run of the year but it wasn't enough as the Augusta GreenJackets defeated the Lake County Captains 3-2 on Wednesday. The Jackets swept the four-game series by winning three one run games. The Captains went 1-7 on the road trip.

Augusta put a run on the scoreboard in the first inning against Captains starter Joanniel Montero when Shane Jordan led of the inning with a double. He went to third base on a ground out and came on to score on a sacrifice fly by Thomas Neal and it was 1-0. Juan Ciriaco singled home Nestor Rojas in the second inning to extend the GreenJackets lead to 2-0.

The Captains cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the third when Ron Rivas singled off of Jackets starter Daryl Maday. He went to second on a ground out and then to third on a wild pitch. Lucas Montero singled and Rivas scored to cut the lead in half. The Greenjackets got the run back on three straight hits in the third inning as Angel Villalona drove in Nick Noonan to up the lead to 3-1. The Captains again cut the lead to one when Adam White hit his fourth home run of the year in the sixth inning to cut the lead to 3-2.

Montero saw his record fall to 1-4 going 3.2 innings and allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out one. Jonathan Holt got the last out of the fourth inning with a strike out. Rob Bryson came on in the fifth and pitched two scoreless innings striking out three. Kyle Landis came on in the seventh inning and also pitched two scoreless innings striking out one. Maday went 6.2 innings and allowed two runs and upped his record to 9-4 with the win. Andrew De La Garza pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his seventh save, his second in the series.

The Captains will return home for an eight game home stand on Friday to face West Virginia and Greensboro. On Friday, LHP Ryan Morris (7-3, 3.53) takes to the mound for the Captains against the West Virginia Power. Game time is 7:05 PM. This home stand will feature fireworks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as the Captains play a special 7:05 PM game on Sunday night against the Power.

Friday is Slovenian Heritage Night at Classic Park with special pre-game entertainment featuring a traditional Slovenian music performance and a post game fireworks extravaganza presented by Cleveland.com.

Saturday is Christmas in July at the ballpark. The first 1,000 fans will also receive a mini bobblehead of Pauley Perch who is featured in the Captains Fish Race promotion presented by National City. Saturday will also feature a post game fireworks extravaganza.

Tickets for all Captains home games including the 2008 SAL Playoffs are on sale at the Classic Park box office, by phone at 440-954-WINS (9467) or at captainsbaseball.com. Tickets for the Playoffs remain the same as regular season game tickets, $9 reserved seat, $7 bleachers, juniors, and seniors, $6 lawn. Lawn seats for the Playoffs will only be sold once the reserved seats and bleachers are sold out. The $7 group rate will still apply to groups of 20 or more.
