K-Wings to Host Toledo and Brampton in Preseason
August 3, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
KALAMAZOO, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliates of the Tampa Bay Lightning, will host two preseason games at Wings Event Center in preparation for the 2016-17 regular season, the team announced Wednesday.
The two-game slate will see the Wings host the Toledo Walleye on Saturday, October 8 at 7 p.m. and the Brampton Beast on Sunday, October 9 at 3 p.m. Both games will cost $5 for entry, and there will be no active parking fee at Wings Event Center for the two contests.
Both Toledo and Brampton are frequent opponents of the Wings during the 2016-17 regular season, as Kalamazoo will face Toledo ten times and Brampton eight times. With the re-alignment that took place in the ECHL during July, the Wings and Walleye have moved to the Western Conference's Central Division and will remain division rivals, while Brampton and Kalamazoo will no longer share a division. The Beast have remained in the Eastern Conference's North Division with Adirondack, Elmira, Manchester, Reading, and Wheeling.
During the 2015-16 season, Kalamazoo posted a 5-2-1-1 record against the Walleye and hold an advantage in the all-time series with a 51-27-11 edge. In tilts with the Beast, Kalamazoo are 7-3-0 all-time, with all ten meetings in franchise history coming during the 2015-16 season.
Season ticket holders are invited to arrive beginning at 4:30 p.m. for Saturday's game and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday to pick up their packages that will include their custom tickets and other season ticket holder gifts. Doors will open one hour prior to puck drop for the general public.
The Kalamazoo Wings host their 43rd annual home opener on Friday, October 21, as they entertain the Fort Wayne Komets. The entire season schedule can be found at www.kwings.com.
2016-17 season tickets are now on sale! Tickets can be purchased at kwings.com or by contacting a Kalamazoo Wings ticket sales representative. For more details on becoming a Kalamazoo Wings High Flyer, visit https://kwings.com/seasontickets.
