Kinston Indians News Release
The K-Tribe kicks off a 7-game homestand tonight, as they host the Northern Division-leading Frederick Keys. Joe Gardner will pitch for Kinston, first pitch at 7:00 pm.
Hang Ten - The K-Tribe's T.J. House pitched seven superb innings and the Indians bats exploded for 10 runs as the Indians shut out Myrtle Beach 10-0 on Thursday night. House was hitless through 5.2 innings, allowing an infield single to break up the no-no. That was the only hit House allowed in the game. Jordan Henry and Lucas Montero each knocked in a pair of runs and Kinston scored four runs in the ninth for the final margin.
Tribe Trends - The Indians have now won a season-best 6 out of 8 games. After taking 3 of 4 from the Pelicans, they have now won consecutive series for the first time this season. Kinston also had a season-long four game win streak that was snapped on Wednesday night.
Pitch Men - K-Tribe pitching now has 3 starters ranked in the top 10 in the league in ERA. T.J. McFarland ranks first in the Carolina League with a 0.59 ERA. T.J. House is ranked 7th and Alex White is ranked 8th. Recently promoted Kelvin De La Cruz ranks 6th. In addition, starter Nick Hagadone's ERA is just 2.10, however he doesn't have enough innings to qualify for the league leaders.
