Kinston Indians News Release

Kinston plays the final game of a 4-game set in Myrtle Beach before coming home for a 7-game homestand starting Friday night vs. Frederick. Left-hander T.J. House will pitch for the K-Tribe tonight, 7:05 first pitch.

Four, No More - The K-Tribe's season-high four game winning streak came to an end last night in Myrtle Beach in a 4-3 loss to the Pelicans. Kinston didn't go down without a fight however, as they rallied for two runs on four consecutive hits with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Streak Stuff - The Indians averaged 5.5 runs per game during the streak. They had only managed 3.9 runs per game this season going into that stretch. Kinston had their biggest comeback win of the season, coming from 4-1 down to beat Potomac 8-5 on Saturday night. Sunday was the K-Tribe's first walk-off win of the season, a 3-2 win over Potomac, and it was their first win in a one-run game.

Mayday! - Even with the four-game winning streak, the K-Tribe's bats are having a poor start to the second month of the season. After recovering to hit .255 as a team in April, Kinston is batting only .197 in May. Donnie Webb's .286 batting average in May is the best on the team this month. They still rank seventh in the league with a .234 clip.
