Kingsport, TN - The Kingsport Mets improved to a solid 11-5 at home with a 7-2 rout of Johnson City Thursday evening in front of a near capacity crowd at Hunter Wright Stadium.

The Mets got a huge shot in the arm thanks to the left arm of Christofer Dominguez.

Dominguez, just making his second start of the season, went six innings striking out five and allowing no runs.

The offense was able to get him two runs of support in the fifth, after being no-hit through the first four.

Jaylen Palmer led off the frame with a single to left. Andres Regnault then followed with a single to set up Cristopher Pujols, who lashed an RBI-single to left field.

On the play, Regnault went to third, and later scored on a throwing error to give Kingsport a 2-0 advantage.

The Cardinals would pull even in the seventh thanks to an RBI-single by Chandler Redmond and a bases loaded walk by Malcom Nunez.

In the bottom of the frame the K Mets would take the lead for good as Regnault would hit a one out double, and then score on a clutch, two-out RBI-single by Tanner Murphy.

Kingsport would get more than enough insurance in the eighth, scoring four times including a three-run mammoth homer by Jaylen Palmer to put the game on ice.

The Mets will now turn their attention to the Pulaski Yankees, as they get set to host the Big Apple-achian Rivalry Series at Hunter Wright Stadium.

Tomorrow night's game is another Fireworks Friday, sponsored by Ingles Markets. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game for a postgame fireworks extravaganza.

Tomorrow night's game is also the second Eastman Kingsport Manufacturing Night.

Gates open at 5:30 and first pitch is set for 6:30.
