Washington, D.C. (April 15, 2008) - D.C. United announced today it has waived Justin Moose in order that the midfielder could sign with USL First Division side Vancouver Whitecaps. Moose spent the past two seasons with the Black-and-Red after being drafted by the club in the first round (7th overall) of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft.
"On behalf of the club, Iâd like to thank Justin for his hard work and dedication to D.C. United," said United General Manager Dave Kasper. "We believe this will be a great opportunity for him to go and get quality playing time in Vancouver and we wish him the best of luck."
During his first season with United, Moose tallied one appearance with the first team on 6/24, coming on as a second half substitute in United's 1-0 win over Kansas City. He spent most of the season with the reserve team, notching one goal and one assist in ten starts. The midfielder factored in seven games (four starts) with the first team in 2007 and played in all 12 reserve team matches (11 starts), tallying two goals and one assist.
