Lynx Notes
Sylvia Fowles finished the night with eight points and a team-high 11 rebounds, adding two assists, one steal and one block.
With her sixth rebound of the night, Fowles (currently 1,133) moves into second all-time on the Lynx defensive rebound list, passing Maya Moore (1,127).
Napheesa Collier tallied a team-high and season-high 26 points, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and 10-of-13 from the charity stripe. Her 10-of-13 effort from the free throw line represents career highs in both categories. She also grabbed a season-high-tying seven rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Collier now has scored 20+ points 11 times in her career and Minnesota is 9-2 when she does so.
Kayla McBride registered a season-high-tying 17 points and has now scored in double figures in five of her six games in a Lynx uniform. She connected on five threes for the seventh time in her career (first with Minnesota). The last time she connected on five threes was September 10, 2020 vs Minnesota.
In his first start as a Minnesota Lynx, Layshia Clarendon registered 14 points, shooting 4-of-5 from the floor and dished out a team-high five assists. Additionally, she tallied two rebounds and one steal in 25:44 minutes of play.
Team Notes
Minnesota outscored Atlanta 40-18 in the paint tonight, establishing season bests in both points scored and points allowed. The +22 point margin equals their largest in any game since posting 48-16 advantage vs. Washington on Sept. 3, 2017 in St. Paul. Since the start of the 2011 season, the Lynx are now 90-19 when scoring 40+ paint points.
The Lynx forced 19 Atlanta turnovers, their season best in that category. The 19 turnovers produced 25 Minnesota points, also a season best. The Lynx entered tonight's game ranked 11th in points off turnovers, averaging just 11.8 ppg.
Minnesota shot a season-high 52.6% (30-of-57) from the floor. The Lynx hit 50%+ seven times in the 2020 season (winning six of the seven) and improve to 130-17 all-time when shooting 50%+ (96-7 since the start of 2011).
Dream Notes
Tiffany Hayes led the way for the Dream, scoring 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds. This marks her third 20+ point outing of the season.
