WHAT A SWEET SUNDAY - The Portland Sea Dogs split their six-game series with the Reading Fightin Phils with a 10-3 victory on Sunday evening in Pennsylvania. The Sea Dogs started quick with a four-run first inning which included a double by Ceddanne Rafaela. Portland plated their four runs on five hits against LHP Kent Emanuel who was rehabbing with Reading. Rafaela then tripled in the second inning, but was ejected on a close play at first in the fourth inning. Tyreque Reed blasted his third homer of the year in the fifth inning.

SEASON-HIGH HITS - Portland set a new season-high on Sunday with 17 hits. Four of the starting nine had multiple hits, including Tyreque Reed who led the way. Reed went four-for- five, finishing a triple shy of the cycle. Kole Cottam recorded three hits, all singles.

POWER OUTAGE - The Sea Dogs have the fewest amount of home runs this season in Double-A. Portland has blasted 45 long balls so far this year while the Tulsa Drillers lead the level with 91 homers. Richmond has hit 81 home runs this season.

IT'S BEEN AWHILE - The Portland Sea Dogs continue their roadtrip in Richmond, Virginia to face the Richmond Flying Squirrels. It will be the first time since July 30th - August 1st, 2019 that the Sea Dogs have traveled to The Diamond. In the last three-game series in Richmond, Portland swept the Flying Squirrels. Currently, the Flying Squirrels are in first place in the Southwest Division of the Eastern League with a 37-26 record. Portland is tied for fifth place in the Northeast Division with the Reading Fightin Phils.

CASTELLANOS NAMED EASTERN LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - First baseman/ outfielder Pedro Castellanos has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the week of June 13-19. Castellanos hit a league-best .429 (12-for-28) in six games during the week with two runs scored, two doubles, a home run, and five RBI. In 58 games this season, Castellanos leads the club in average (.283), hits (65), doubles (16), home runs (8), RBI (42), slugging percentage (.465), OPS (.772), extra base hits (25), and total bases (107). He has a team-high 15 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI games. Castellanos is the first Sea Dogs player to earn Eastern League Player of the Week honors this season.

TALKING ABOUT CASTELLANOS - Pedro Castellanos extended his hitting streak to 16 games and his on-base streak to 21 games with a single on Sunday evening. His hitting streak is the longest, active streak in Double-A. Castellanos has also recorded 15 multi-hit games for the Sea Dogs this year and 11 multi-RBI games this season.

THIS DATE IN SEA DOGS HISTORY - June 21, 2011: Reynaldo Rodriguez homered and drove in 5 runs, leading the Sea Dogs past Trenton 13-5 at Hadlock Field. Brock Huntzinger fanned 9 over 5 innings to earn the win, and Portland beat Yankee prospect Dellin Betances (7 runs over 2.1 IP). The 'Dogs received a hit from 8 of 9 starters.

PITCHING MATCHUP - LHP Jay Groome takes the mound for the Sea Dogs tonight. He last pitched June 15th at Reading and tossed a career-high 7.0 shutout innings allowing two hits while walking four and striking out five. Groome has allowed one run in last 12.0 innings.
