Portland Sea Dogs News Release
SEA DOGS DROP ONE-RUN GAME TO READING - The Portland Sea Dogs were unable to muster more than one run in last night's 2-1 loss to the Reading Fightin Phils. Reading broke onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning against Portland starter Victor Santos. Logan O'Hoppe led off the inning with a double. Kevin Vicuna advanced O'Hoppe to third with a groundout and Jonathan Guzman drove him in with a base hit, giving the Fightin Phils a 1-0 lead. The Sea Dogs tied the game in the top of the seventh inning against Fightin Phils reliever Mike Adams. With one out, Wil Dalton launched a solo homer to left field. It was his fourth homer of the season and tied the game at 1-1. The Fightin Phils pulled ahead again in the bottom of the seventh with Sea Dogs reliever Joan Martinez pitching. After Guzman popped out, Chris Sharpe lifted a solo home run over the wall in left. It was his first of the year and put Reading back in the lead 2-1. The Sea Dogs put runners on first and second with no outs in the ninth inning, but couldn't bring anybody in, dropping the game 2-1.
