Juice Unable To Squeeze A Sweep Against Redfish

Port Charlotte, FL- The Bradenton Juice went for its first series sweep since taking all three games from the Anderson Joes in the series that ended June 12th. But it was not meant to be as the Juice lost to the Charlotte County Redfish 5-2 at the Charlotte Sports Park.

Bradenton started the scoring with 2 runs in the first inning with Luke Barganier leading off with a singe to left field and two batters later Al Corbeil drew a walk. Then after Eddie Kim struck out, Mikela Olsen blooped a single to center field that plated Barganier putting the Juice up 1-0. Up next Noah Peery hit an infield single that Corbeil scored on increasing Bradenton's lead to 2-0.

Charlotte County cut Bradenton's lead in half in the Top of the 2nd when with two outs Billy Kovatch doubled to right field and the next batter Aaron Simmons followed with a double of his own that scored Kovatch.

The Redfish tied the game when Ramon Downing lifted a solo homer over the right field wall.

Charlotte County took the lead in the 7th inning when 8 batters came to the plate bringing in 3 runs on 4 hits.

Bradenton was only able to muster an infield single by Julius Thames the rest of the way as the Juice lost its first game since Friday by a score of 5-2.

For the Juice starting pitcher Travis Kane did not fare in the decision as he pitched 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs (all earned) on 8 hits, walking 1 and striking out 10. Jim O'Malia (0-2) took the loss for Bradenton as he pitched 1.2 innings, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned on 3 hits walking 0 and striking out 1. Charlotte County's starting pitcher Daniel Chaffardet did not fare in the decision going 5 innings, allowing 2 runs (all earned) on 3 hits, walking 3 and striking out 2. Brandon Camardese (1-1) got the win going 2 innings, allowing 0 runs on 0 hits, walking 0 and striking out 5.

Bradenton sees its record fall to 19-14 while Charlotte County improves to 9-26. The Juice start a three game series with the Macon Music at Luther Williams Field in Macon on Thursday with first pitch schedule for 7:05.
